All At Once....Goodbye Whitney

Know its a bit late to write about Whitney's pasing. was actually surfing youtube and caught her 1986 video "All Out Once". Memories... the 80's . Made me realise how so young we were.

For a lot of folks out there, Whitney's known for 'I Will Always Love You" but for my generation we will always remember her for All At Once. Her freshness, THE VOICE without CGI, computer makeup,lighting and a whole of other gizmos. She was a natural.

She was the girl next door who just love to sing. We could all relate to her before all that glamour and glitter and all of us fell for her ....such innocence.

Qurban dan Sedekah

Insyallah 6hb Nov ni (10 Zulhijjah) ni Hari Raya Qurban. Yang kat Mekah tu alhamdullilah. Semoga haji yang mabrur.

Yang paling penting kita yang tinggal kat kampung nie, ada jugak tanggung jawab kat Allah dan ummah.

Macam ustaz cakap niat Qurban tu kerana perintah allah bukan sebab kita ada duit lebih or healthy food coz makan daging segar. That is a consequence, sama jugak gi haji or puasa. In fact we dont have to rationalise pun coz perintah Allah memang nampak kebaikannya semulajadi dan ada jugak yang Ghaib.

Satu lagi sedekah tu on top of perintah Allah juga punca rezeki. Kepada abang2 dan kakak2 , this old adage the more u give the more u get is an evergreen saying since time immemorial. Cuma coz dia ghaib kita tak nampak tapi semo dah tertulis dalam kitab. So dont be a Scrooge. Give, give and give some more.

Insyallah Raya Qurban nie kita pasang niat ikhlas bersedekah. Kami dah siap asah pisau. Kitorg kat AU3 prefer the traditional way instead of contracting out kat orang. Meriah sikit bro. So if u guys are free come over to the basketball court kat depan Surau Nurul Iman AU3. Kita lapah sama2 pas tu makan sup lembu fresh kat AlWardah. Insyallah amalan kita diterima Allah.....

Steve Jobs

Salam all,

Since we are in the topic of thinking outside the box lets talk about the ultimate supremo on that subject matter, Steve Jobs. Not talking about the gazillion bucks that he has or his intimate private life. Just looking back 20years dowwn memory lane.

A lot of kids nowadays take for granted the latest Apple gizmos such as Ipads, Iphones and the Mac. But I grew up in the 80's and really appreciated Jobs and Wozniak's contribution to society. Of course we also had Gates around but lets talk APPLE.

Remember the old IBM dinasaour which had a separate DOS from the other office softwares. No mouse my dear, just a whole lot of F keys (pardon my computer lingo) And IBM wasnt going to improve coz they were just making too much money at that time. Of course for us poor students, we could watch a whole lot of sitcoms before anything gets processed. Talk of getting frustrated. Programming was like having an arnott biscuit in front of your screen. Now u see it now u dont.

Then came Stevie and his gizmos. the Apple Macintosh. The first question was "Where's the CPU? Its in the screen box you idiot". That was like WOOW man. out of this world. Second question was what's all those caroon characters doing on the screen especially that dustbin. That's the delete bin bro. Another wowww. And we have this little thingy called the mouse so that u can forget all nuisance F keys. Everybody gotta have one and he came through with a lot of other gizmos in the future including a WOOWW production house called PIXAR .

Guys, what we've got to learn from Stevie is to learn to dream again, Impossible is nothing and Its my turn. To unlearn what we learned in this negative world amd to tell our kids that its ok to fail as long they dont give up their dream. Thats what winning is all about and to tell u the truth I dont think steve thought a lot about money.

Am Baaaack

Salam,

Lama betul rasa dah tak tulis Been about 6 months I reckon. Partly coz busy but mostly coz malas tapi dok nampak visitor list dah kat 2,500. Tak tahu le sape yang baca blog ni since semo org dah pindah baca facebook.

Talking about masak2 actually everybody wants to be a chef nowadays...agaknya org dah boring jadik lawyer, accountant, engineer (those were the vocations that our parents aspire us to be) So why not be a cook, designer, artist.... there seems to a demand for finer things in life nowadays. And to top it off u actually love getting up in the morning coz its not a just a job anymore...its a passion.

I say yea... to these new vocations coz sometimes F=MA and E=MC2 just isn"t our cuppa tea and folks the kids nowadays are a lot more picky than the older generation. Fine dining doesn't have to be in Mandarin or Concorde anymore. Sometimes it could be ala survivor series kat tengah hutan bro. That's niche market thinking. Everybody's thinking outside the box like stevie jobs.

We still need lawyers but hopefully these new vouge jobs will catch on. The world is just getting too serious for my liking. Till next time.

Awal Muharram....Azam baru

Alhamdullilah dah tahun baru. Yele kita skrg ni ada kesedaran...tahun baru ada dua yang hijriah and Masihi. Penting dua2 nya. Satu to keep our faith and satu lagi untuk kerja. Kami kerja from ramadan to ramadan coz masa tu kira internal closing buku.

So keje222 pas tu rileks sikit masa Ramadan. Insyallah tahun 1432 Masihi ni will be good for the soul and business aspirations. Kita doa2 jele. Rahmat Allah tu luas. Anyways semuanye dah tertulis cuma we dont go down without a fight no...

UPSR pastu Cuti Sekolah

Salam All,

Kejam2 mata dah nak akhir tahun lagi. Deepavali pun dah lepas. Ni result UPSR pun dah keluar. Pastu school holidays again. But for us adults tak banyak beza sangat banyak lagi assignment nak di habiskan. But for the kids kita korban kan sikit, Coz folks we are not promised tomorrow. Ni kalo dok grind, grind, grind on the job bila nak bawak budak2 gi Zoo. Keje memang tak abis2. Tu dah lumrah dunia. So take a break. Have a Kit Kat. Macam dalam ESPN nye basket ball TIME OUT coach.

Enjoy life and great food. Money is to be spent and not just saved. Time with ur kids is more important than time with the boss. Boss tu pun nak relax bros. Dont worry there's so many other worlds to conquer. Dont get caught in the rat race. That is a sure way to IJN. Tu pun kalau depa tak privatise.

Anyways we are cooking up some new recipes this school hols. Check us out.

Banjir kat Utara

Salam All,
Hari2 dok baca tentang banjir kat utara. Selalunye kita dengar kat pantai timur coz sungai dia besar2. Sekarang mana2 pun boleh kena hit. Dengarnya punca daripada Sungai Golok. Banyak sangat pembangunan from our neighbour kot.

Memang kesian tengok depa tu. Yang paling pening skali is air bersih. Air memang banyak tapi tak bole minum coz dah bercampur ngan segala macam benda. Sekarang ni baru kita sedar that pembangunan tu is not cheap that is if we take all the safety precautions. Memang semo org nak buat untung tapi jadi macam kat Louisiana la bros. Semo org dok 'piling" lupa nak tengok sungai coz tu extra cost.

Memang tak bole buat development in isolation lagi even though it affects borders between nations. Kalo tidak macam gi tandas tapi flush kat rumah neighbour no...

Wondering what to do. Cukup2 le beli submarine tu. Bukannya Navy bole selam kat Jerlun.Kita concentrate duit kita tolong sahabat2 kita kat utara yang tak cukup pitis nak beli mineral water. Kan 1 Malaysia. Cubit paha sebelah kanan, paha kiri pun lebam. Memang la takde direct return on investment tapi ingat Rahmat Allah. Ingat juga bala Allah kalo kita biarkan trajedi ni berlarutan.

Insyallah kita pakat2 Raya Haji ni masak2 daging Qurban n tolong depa. Insyallah.

Korban kat AL WARDAH

Insyallah surau khairiah kami korbankan 2 ekor lembu tahun ni. Dengar2 nya Dato' Seri nak hadiahkan seekor lagi kat komuniti kami. Terimakasih To'. Much appreciated. Kena tambah petugas jele. Nak kerjakan lembu ni bukan senang. Especially Korban/Akikah. Persembahan kita pada Allah kena yang terbaiklah. Ingat cerita Qabil Dan Habil (Kane & Abel). Kalo tak ingat baca Quran tu balik.

Semalam dengar ceramah, amalan terbaik on Hari Raya Korban tu Korban la. TU yang Maha Esa paling suka. Insyallah amalan kita diterima. Anyways jangan dok syok melapah sampai tinggal semayang Zohor yek.

Insyallah kalau u all nak mintak kami sediakan anika jenis juadah berasaskan lembu/kambing, we'll be glad to oblige. Upah masak je memadai. Insyallah yang terbaik pada hari baik bulan baik.

Broken Promises.....A Tragedy of Life

Dear All,
Cant help noticing that there's too much promises being made by our politicians lately. Well what we are worried is that whether they understand what a promise really is. A promise is a contract where there is usually an offer, acceptance and a promise of consideration in either the form of money, time, love etc.2. Bukan bukak mulut cakapje. The mind is a fantastic thing in that is justifies just up to everything even if means breaking promises. Tu otak orang munafik bros.

Just think about it, promises are the essence that hold the fabric of society together. It purportedly allows persons to receive mandates from either citizens, spouses, sons or daughters on the premise that mandate holders will keep to their word. Although its invisible, Its a powerful thing... thats how nobility was born. Adam held the first mandate from God. Failure in society values,business, marriage and not keeping the household together are usually a result of a lot of broken promises. Nie belum cakap tentang promises made between leaders of societies and between nations.

What we are getting at is that we should not allow such practice to be a norm. "Tunaikan Janji tu" should be our motto instead of "People are suckers. Anyway life's a bitch and then we die." Let's start with our mom and dad, the mrs and our children. Hopefully if we practice what we preach it will catch on. Its a long term project boyos but hopefully within 20 years time, we'd have a more caring society.

Bukan apa sedih tengok mak2 semo kena tinggal dek anak. Kena cari ubat no... masalahnya tak bole cari kat farmasi. Sakit jiwa sis.

Bajet 2011...Kena bajet2

Dear All,
Bila kaji2 bajet 2011 nie ada 2 perspective. Satu utk org2 kaya bangsawan, se lagi golongan macam kita2 ni.Contoh nya when they announced that there are at least 300 items exempted from duty. Tu signal utk bangsawan2 kita gi shopping. Jangan lak kakak2 semo over gi swipe credit card. Tu yang masalah org kite, lain kena target, lain pulak yang kena (or is it mengena?)

Org2 macam kite kena pikir muamalat ie camne nak tolak all these goods to the rich and famous. Not the other way round. Ikan kembong pun dah RM10-00 sekilo kak. Lagi mahal dari ayam. Ni lagi nak beli handbag ke 20. Cukup2 le tu. The signal that the Govt is giving is that it is creating a more business friendly environment for aspiring enterprenuers sebab tu depa exempt kan duty on a lot of goods. Depa faham that without bonuses a lot of people are going into side businesses anyway. So lets make it conducive.

For the Govt servant, dont despair that there's no bonus. The Govt is just telling u that it is overstaffed. Yele if u chk the statistics we have the second largest no of govt staff per population in the world. And this is with all the e perolehan and other automation programmes that the Govt has introduced. Apalagi if u are looking for extra income , bermuamalat le. Jangan amik rasuah pulak. Bencana dunia akhirat. U can serve the economy better by bowing out. Tapi...Job Security? I want to serve. Well, unless u are a fireman, policeman or soldier, its better that u serve from the outside. Rezeki tu dari Allah kan? Rahmat Allah tu luas. Think about it. If things are the same next year you guys better start thinking about controlling ur own destinies.

Anyways we hope that the Govt do something about controlling the prices of fish and poultry. Sebab org kita suka kat soto n laksa. Last skali kita semo jadi vegetarian le. Tu pun kangkung, kobis ngan timun je.

Daging Masak Lemak Belimbing Buluh + Ikan keli

Dear All,
Baru2 ni buat keje teman nak gi haji and bertugas kat Lubnan. Main dish daging masak lemak belimbing buluh ngan ikan keli goreng cili hijau. Kampung betul tu pastu ulam ngan sambal belacan top up ngan air asam. Rasa macam balik Benut je.

Funny how sayur2 kampung nie have an effect on meat and poultry especially bila ada element santan dalam lauk tu. Belimbing buluh, terung pipit, bunga kantan. Nie semo warisan kita kak. Jangan dok ingat petai ngan jering je. Tu yang bagi lauk tu have that slight difference in taste and smell. Nak senang cakap apa yang mak ngan nenek pakai dulu. Sekarang nie nak senang tabur Ajinamoto je. Masalah dia rambut lak gugur n rasa pun tak sama.

Anyways sekarang nie masakan kampung dah start hot balik coz semorg dah tepu makan lauk Raya dan Kahwin. So apalagi macam arwah Sudirman kata, Balik Kampung le kita. Calling2 le kita.

First Flight to Mecca....Sabtu ni

Salam All,
Musim Haji dah nak dekat. Bakal 2 Tetamu Allah semo tengah siap2 kain ihram etc22. Jangan lupa baju sejuk (sweater/pullover) se dua. Cuaca kat dunia skrg ni tak menentu. Negeri panas judi sejuk sampai blizzard. Yang sejuk pulak heat wave. Apa nak buat, bila dah tua benda pelik2 jadi. Samala jugak ngan mother nature ni dah jadi great grandmother pun.

Pesan kami pasang niat yang betul. Jangan banyak cakap sangat kat tanah suci tu. Believe me one thing I noticed about Mecca is its ancientness. Ye le Dpd Nabi Adam sampai ke present day. Magical eh?. You'd better believe it. Rasa macam you are transported back thousands of years back in time. Cuma bila nampak Hilton ngan Coke tu baru teringat kita ni di 21st century. So pakai mata je, mulut kena tutup.

Insyallah sebelum berangkat ke Tanah Suci if we could be of any assistance esp on serving great food. We'll give it our best shot. Biasanya nasi putih ngan lauk lemak. Something light... kalo tidak asyik mengantuk lak.

Anyways, Ahlan Wasahlan kepada semua Tetamu Allah. Selamat Pergi dan Balik. Insyallah Haji yang Mabrur. Bon Voyage, Godspeed and God Bless.

Anika Noodles...Letih ngan nasi?

Salam All,
Syawal ni dok telan pelbagai bahan asas nasi. Nasi impit, ketupat, lemang, beriyani, minyak, tomato. Puuhhh. Kena bagi perut rest sikit.

We suggest, a change... maybe some macaroni, pasta or quishe/pizza. Ni semo pun ada kat dapur kami. Not just bolognaise but also marinara ala creme kupang or lala. Take ur pick.

So spice up your life without too much chili. Tukar dari palm oil to olive oil. Kan makanan Nabi dulu2 tu. Cicah olive oil 2 ngan breadrolls with garlic. mmm...something different no?
